Mount Reynolds from Siyeh Pass The next day we did a nice hike from Siyeh Bend, over Siyeh Pass (elev 8000 ft - the highest pass in the park), and then down to Sunrift Gorge.
For Kelly's birthday (July 6th), we took the day off and visited the town of St Mary, looked at the shops, ate dinner at Johnson's Cafe and took in the evening program at the St Mary visitor center.
Bear posing On July 7th we moved to the Many Glacier valley and camped there the next two nights. On the 8th we went on a 10 mile hike to the Grinnel Glacier. On the way back we saw a nice grizzly about 200 yards above us on the trail. We watched him for awhile until he eventually started moving in a parallel direction. After going over a ridge we saw him again. Bear moving
The trip offerred nice views of the lakes in the valley. Lakes Grinnell, Josephine & Sherburne
Jeff assisting in Natualist Talk Every night we would try to attend the Naturalist Campfire talks. The kids were always eager to participate - especially Jeff.
